I founded Pickard Design nine years ago to help businesses and homeowners to transform their spaces. I have worked on interiors ranging from country homes to city hospitality venues. See the Portfolio page for examples of my work.
Background
I studied Industrial Design & Technology at Loughborough University and later gained an MA in Transdisciplinary Design. I became Senior Designer for Beverley Wood Design in 2010. We worked on projects such as Chester Cathedral Visitor Shop, Preston Visitor Centre and a large mill conversion.
In 2017 I relocated from Lancashire to Somerset. I now live in a lovely 1950s house overlooking open fields with my husband, young daughter and rescue dog, Diesel. Our house is a renovation project, although I seem to be too busy working on client projects to have time to makeover our own home! “Cobbler’s children are the worst shod...!” At home I always drink tea from a teapot and am often found in my fledgling vegetable plot. I work from a light-filled studio that we designed and built at the end of our garden.

What I do
My design style is contemporary, characterful and bold. I use clean lines and rich colours, natural materials and luxury detailing. But my skill as an interior designer is to create spaces based on each client’s individual requirements and tastes.
I believe that good interior design improves wellbeing, makes our hearts sing and improves everyday life.
